Washington County poised to name first female sheriff

“For the first time, Washington County is likely to have a female sheriff, with county commissioners expected next week to appoint a successor to retiring Pat Garrett.

If approved by the commissioners on Tuesday, Oct. 3, Massey would be the first woman to lead the Washington County Sheriff’s Office in its history.”
